Sally Carter Montgomery NEW PORT RICKEY, Fla. - Sally Carter Montgomery, 78, of New Port Richey, Fla., former Plainview resident, died Jan. 25, 2013, after a recurring battle with colon cancer. She was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Anna, Ill., to Ann and William F. Carter. She lived in Plainview most of her early years and graduated from Plainview High School in 1952. She graduated from Northwestern University and taught school in Arlington Heights, Ill., Houston and Dallas. She also sold real estate for Ebby Halliday Realtors in Dallas from 1978-2000. She married Robert "Bob" Montgomery on July 21, 1956. After their retirement in 2000, they moved to New Port Richey. Survivors include her husband Bob; two daughters, Ann Margaret Skiles and husband Keith of St. Louis, Mo., and Jeanne Tulloch and husband Ty of Belton; one sister, Martha Luan (Kent) Haynes of Wimberly; two stepsisters, Jerre (Bob) Knoblock of Azle and Kay (Rannie) Duncan of Plano; three grandsons, Ty and Joshua Tulloch and Robbie Barkley; six nieces, two nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and William F. Carter; a sister, Nancy Carter Whitfield; and a nephew, James Brunson. Memorial services were held Jan. 29, 2013. Burial was in Military National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla., by Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612.
