Beverly Steed Beverly Steed, 57, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church with David Hawkins officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Beverly was born Oct. 16, 1958, in Independence, Missouri, to Donald and Patricia Bridges. She graduated from Ed W. Clark High School in Las Vegas, Nev. She moved to Plainview in 1999 with her daughters Rachel and Laura and former husband Joel Steed. Beverly had a fierce love of sports and athletics, especially OU football. She began working in the Wayland Baptist University Athletics Department in 2005 and was devoted to her job, her students and their coaches for the next 11 years. Beverly enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and cats. She also found great joy in helping and comforting others in any way she could. Beverly was a light to those around her and is dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Bridges; her nephew, Samuel Wood. She is survived by two daughters, Rachel Steed and Laura Steed, both of Austin; her father, Donald Bridges of Tulsa; one brother, Thomas Bridges of Tulsa; one sister, Donna Wood of Tulsa; and one sister-in-law, Deborah Hunter of Tulsa.
