Schuh, Doris J. - Remington  
Doris J. Schuh, 87, of Remington passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette. Mrs. Schuh was born August 8, 1927 in Remington to the late Lowell and Nina (Norton) Hensler and was a 1945 graduate of Remington High School. Her marriage was to Donald S. Schuh on Jan. 25, 1947 in Remington. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1966. Mrs. Schuh was a homemaker and worked for Tri-County School Corporation for many years before retiring. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Stars. Doris enjoyed spending time with her dog, bird watching, and crocheting. Surviving are two sons, Ron (Peg) Schuh and Brian (Teresa) Schuh, both of Remington; and a daughter, Shaun (Mike) Trusky of Lafayette. Doris loved spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death with her parents and husband is a daughter, Cheryl Lockhart, and a brother, Gene Hensler. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, at First Christian Church of Remington with Pastor Randy Sparks officiating. Armold, Muriel J. - Idaville  
Muriel J. Armold, 105, of Idaville passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in Germantown, Ohio. Muriel was born Sept. 3, 1909, to Elva Elizabeth (Morehead) and Benjamin Presley Jewell, in Poole, Kentucky. She was a member of Sitka Baptist Church since 1942. She attended two years at W.K.T.C. in Bowling Green, Kentucky and graduated from Indiana University. Muriel taught 10 years in Wolcott and 16 years in Monticello. She is survived by her daughter, Juliette Draffen; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Armold; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Keith) Lyons, Jason (Christy) Armold, Todd (Amy) Draffen, Brian (Cathy) Armold, Kevin (Lydia) Armold; and her great-grandchildren, Reanna, Madeline, Grand, Abigail, Nathan, Allison, Delaney, Kristen, Isabel, Kyle, Kenneth, Elijah and Katrina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Armold, married in 1939, (1983); her son, Presley Armold (2014); and her son-in-law, Lowell Draffen (2012). The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. (two hours prior to the service), on Saturday, May 23, at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, 202 S. Illinois St., Monticello, where the Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m., with Dr. James Elliot officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Monticello. Hannon, Bernard Eugene - Rensselaer  
Bernard Eugene Hannon, 87, of Rensselaer passed away May 15, 2015 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Bernard was born on April 18, 1928, the son of James and Elizabeth (English) Hannon both deceased. He was raised on a dairy farm in Kouts, Indiana. It was there that he learned the value of hard work and his great love of animals, farm fields and all things rural. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years during the Korean Conflict. He attended Indiana University and earned a bachelor's degree in special education, then a master's in school administration. He was recruited to Rensselaer in 1969 to become the first Director of Special Ed providing services to eight school districts in three counties. He was successful at the local, state and national level earning numerous awards. He was a published author in various educational journals. Bernard earned recognition as a co-director of the Young Patriots Fife & Drum Corps in 1976. After retiring from the schools, he became an adjunct professor at Saint Joseph's College, bought and sold antiques, ran a lawn and landscape business and earned a real estate license in order to assist Lou with Hannon Homes. Bernard loved to travel and had the experience of taking a father-son cruise aboard the U.S.S. Roosevelt Aircraft Carrier. He and Lou went on 25 Elderhostel trips. They enjoyed wintering in Fairhope, Alabama. Bernard served as a hospice volunteer in Jasper County. He loved woodworking, watching IU basketball and spending time with his beloved friends and family. On Jan. 29, 1955 he married the love of his life, Lou Ellen Hofferth. In January of 2015 they celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage. Bernard is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Lou; children, Kathleen Hannon Burton, Bernard Michael (Sarah) Hannon, Mark (Luisa) Hannon, Timothy (Denise) Hannon, Jeffrey (Rachelle) Hannon and Scott (Larissa) Hannon; a daughter-in-law, Erin Hannon; grandchildren, Kara, Justin, Dan, Bryn, Darby, Kate, Chris, Matthew, Bridget, Patrick, Amanda, Madison, Kai, Melia, Connor, Jordan, Sarah and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Christopher Hannon; three brothers, James, Jack and Dick; and two sisters, Mary and Helen. Friends may visit with the family at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Tuesday, May 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Saint Joseph Chapel in Rensselaer on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Father Joseph Hannon officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph College, P.O. Box 870, Rensselaer, IN 47978. Howard Jr., JB - Rensselaer  
JB Howard Jr., 54, of Rensselaer passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, May 17, 2015. JB was born in Rensselaer on Sept. 14, 1960, the son of Millicent (Ritchie) Howard and the late JB Howard Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of Kankakee Valley High School. JB retired in 2001 from Local #1005 where he had been a carpenter for 20 years. He previously worked at Monon Trailer in Monon, Indiana. He enjoyed golfing, reading westerns, working on old cars, riding his Harley motorcycle and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. One of his greatest joys was time spent with his grandchildren. Surviving is his mother Millicent Howard of Rensselaer; two daughter's, Valerie Howard of Wheatfield, and Robin Chizmar of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one son, Shane Howard of Rensselaer; seven grandchildren, Kylie and Roni Bello, Marissa and Brock Howard, Kayden Howard, Stevie Chizmar, and Alaina Howard; two sisters, Wanda (Robert) Gifford and Karan Howard, both of Rensselaer; and a niece, Elizabeth Gifford of Rensselaer. Friends will be received at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Wednesday, May 20, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thurman Ritchie officiating. Lilly, Annette Marie - Rensselaer  
Annette Marie Lilly, 47, of Rensselaer, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at her home. Annette was born Feb. 21, 1968 to the late Cleo and Susie (Bailey) Mullins.
