Mrs. Jeannette Chapman Beaver passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, in Rensselaer.

Jeannette was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Rensselaer, the daughter of Freda (Kohler) and Fred Chapman. A lifetime resident, Jeannette had also lived in Chicago and Alton, Ill. and enjoyed winter's spent in Naples, Fla.
Graduating from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1935, Jeanette attended Indiana University. She was taught opera at the Adolph Muhlmann School by Adolph's daughter, Zerline Metzger. Jeannette worked as a secretary at American Mutual in Chicago and taught voice while living in Alton.
On June 8, 1940, in Jerseyville, Ill., Jeanette married Ernest Raymond Beaver, M.D.
Jeannette was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer and Naples. She was a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Prairie Arts Council, Curtis Creek Country Club, Order of Eastern Star and The Club at Pelican Bay in Naples.
Surviving are four children, James R. (Carole) Beaver of Rensselaer, Dr. Janet (Dr. Thomas) Schaub of Verona, Wisc., Dr. Steven (April Smith, friend) Beaver and Richard Beaver, both of Rensselaer; five grandchildren, Shannon (Scott) Engelken, Erin (Jeff) Adell, Eric (Clare) Beaver, Singe (Joe) Carney and Stacey Johansson; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Kathryn) Chapman of Rensselaer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Dr. E.R. Beaver on July 22, 2009, and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Hostetter officiating.
