Presley K. Armold, 73, of Rensselaer, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Jasper County Hospital.
Presley was born in Lafayette, Ind. on April 24, 1940, the son of Muriel (Jewell) Armold and the late Kenneth Armold. He was a 1958 graduate of Monticello High School and received his degree from Purdue University.
Presley was a member of the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1968, attaining the rank of Captain with the 32nd Air Division. He retired after 20 years as a manufacturing representative with Bolens Corporation.
His marriage was in Anderson, Ind. on Feb. 3, 1968, to Sharon Fraumann who survives.
Presley was a member and Deacon of the First Christian Church in Rensselaer and a former member of the Rensselaer Rotary.
Surviving with his loving wife Sharon are three sons, Jason Scott (Christy) Armold of Valparaiso, Ind., Brian Kenneth (Cathy) Armold of Monticello, Ind., and Kevin Michael (Lydia) Armold of Rensselaer; eight grandchildren, Reanna, Madeline, Abigail, Allison, Isabel, Kenneth, Elijah and Katrina; his mother, Muriel Armold of Idaville, Ind.; and a sister, Juliette Draffen of Germantown, Ohio.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, from 2-6 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be Monday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with Rev. Elizabeth Hartmann officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Raise the Roof Fund by procuring the proper envelope at the Jackson Funeral Chapel.
