Rex O. Blacker

Rex O. Blacker, age 90, of Rensselaer passed away June 2, 2009 at the Jasper County Hospital. Rex was born November 11, 1918 in Crawfordsville, IN to John and Marian (Moser) Blacker. He moved to Jasper County in 1961, graduating from Remington High School and Butler University. His marriage was in Rensselaer on May 16, 1983 to Ruth M. Sanders who survives. Rex served as a navigator in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, attaining the rank of Captain. He was a business owner and for 60 years owned the Rensselaer NAPA Auto Parts store. Rex was a lifetime member of the Curtis Creek Country Club, a member of the V.F.W. Post #1279, the American Legion Post #29 ,the Prairie Lodge No. 125 F.&A M and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rensselaer. Rex is survived by his wife, Ruth, a daughter, Ann Kirschner of Connersville, IN, a son, Ronald (Anita) Brunton of Rensselaer, a daughter Terri (James) Pasierb of Mt. Ayr, a son, Walter Brunton of Mt. Ayr, a daughter, Tammy (Leroy) Langley of Rensselaer and a son, Brian Brunton of Mt. Ayr, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Max (Margaret) Blacker of Texas.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 2-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Gerald Egger officiating.
