Gerald Woodke, 90, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014, at his residence.
Gerald was born in Lowell on Oct. 1, 1923, the son of Edward and Miranda (Werblo) Woodke both deceased. On Oct. 16, 1945 he married Tresa DeYoung and she survives. Gerald proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former member of the First Reformed Church of DeMotte.
Gerald had worked as an inspector at Northway Products for 25 years and spent many years working as a farmer.
Surviving Gerald is his loving wife, Tresa; children, Gary L. (Karen) Woodke of Rensselaer, Carol J. (Richard) Kohlhagen of Rensselaer, and Marvin L. Woodke of Monterey, Indiana; sister, Gladys Osburn of Hebron; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Monday, July 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services being held at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Sandridge Cemetery in Rensselaer.
