Marvin D. Miller, 87, passed away at Albany Healthcare in Albany, Indiana on Thursday, August 7, 2014.

Marvin was born in Newton County on Sept. 16, 1926, the son of the late Abner B. and Lydia Miller. He attended the Mt. Ayr Schools. In 1956, Marvin moved to Rensselaer where he resided until moving to Albany three years ago to live with his daughter.
His marriage was in Goodland, Indiana on May 16, 1951, to Mary Lou Cudworth who passed away on May 2, 2011.
Marvin retired after 36 years at USX in Gary, Indiana where he was a machine operator. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer. Marvin enjoyed being a member of the Euchre-Rama Club while living in Rensselaer.
Surviving are his loving family: daughter, Colleen (Gregory) Dennis of Dunkirk, Indiana; grandson, Matthew (Shannon) Dennis of Muncie, Indiana; two great-granddaughters, Lily and Ella Dennis; and three sisters, Mary Ulrich of Rensselaer and Marceline Leichty of West Liberty, Ohio and LaVonna (Duane) Miller of Taylorsville, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; one grandson, Christopher Dennis on Sept. 27, 2008; and one sister, Ruby Good.
Friends will be received by the family on Monday, August 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services for Marvin will be Tuesday, August 12, at 10:30 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer.
