Wayne A. Molenaar, 68, of Rensselaer passed away at his home Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Wayne was born in Rensselaer on Jan. 11, 1945, the son of Andy Molenaar and Della (Worley) Molenaar.
A lifetime resident of Rensselaer, Wayne graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1963. He was employed in the construction field for 20 years with Laborers International Union of North America Local #41. Wayne was also engaged in farming and had been employed for 10 years with the Indiana State Highway.
Wayne served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post #29 and VFW Post #1279. He enjoyed playing poker and loved watching western movies.
Surviving are his loving children, Cathy (John) Rowe of Chalmers, Ind., Steve (Jodi) Molenaar and Jeff Molenaar, both of Rensselaer; seven grandchildren, Erik Rowe, Ryan Rowe, Katelyn Rowe, Zachary Molenaar, Clint Molenaar, Andy Molenaar and Ashley Molenaar; and one sister, Dorie Hielema of DeMotte. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Natalee Paige Molenaar; and one brother, Russell Molenaar.
Friends will be received by the family from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, May 10, at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery in Rensselaer.
Memorials may be made to the Rensselaer American Legion Post #29.
