Lloyd B. Jones Sr., 77, of Rensselaer passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at his home.

Lloyd moved to Rensselaer after living 57 years in Lafayette, Ind. He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Beckley, W.V., the son of William Jones and Effey (Shewesberry) Jones
Lloyd was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the VFW, the NRA and loved hunting. He found peace at church and was a devoted family man.
Lloyd's first marriage was to Loretta Abner Jones who preceded him in death. He then married Nancy Ricks Jones who passed away Sept. 16, 2013.
Surviving are five children, Debra (Roy) Marr of Martinsville, Ind., Rebecca Nine of Warsaw, Ind., Kimberly (Steven) Godsey of Kentucky, Marcie Grenard of Rensselaer, and Lloyd B. Jones Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Jean McHugh of, Las Vegas, Nev., Donna (David) Lane of Florida, Louie Jones of Cleveland, Ohio, and Anita Thomas of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta; and his wife, Nancy; three brothers, William, Bud and Fred Jones; and two sisters, Betty Ramsey and Barbara Jones.
Services with military honors will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Rensselaer City Park Marlin Shelter located on West Washington Street in Rensselaer with Chaplin Robert Rawlins officiating.
