Doris M. Lawson-Boehling Murrells Inlet Doris Margaret Lawson-Boehling age 82, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Grand Strand Healthcare. Born in Paterson, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Schrade. Mrs. Boehling was a former nurse at the Nyack Hospital in New York. She was a member of Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Rick Enchelmaier. Survivors include her husband, Martin Boehling of Murrells Inlet; a son, Jack Lawson of NY; two daughters, Suzanne (Mark) Smith of NY and Pamela (Jerry) Smith of NY and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church with Reverend Brad Bellah officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Lewis, Derwood  
Douglas Derwood Lewis March 11, 1928 - May 26, 2016 Conway Mr. Douglas "Derwood" Lewis, 88, husband of Ollie M. Lewis, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Conway Medical Center. Born March 1, 1928 in Conway, Derwood was the son of the late Alton W. Lewis and the late Gussie Mae Johnson Lewis. He opened his first service station in 1946 at age 18 and also served in the SC National Guard. Derwood was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church. He was well known in the community and loved by everyone who knew him. He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed. His compassionate spirit was evidenced by the way he lived his life, often helping those less fortunate than himself. Derwood had a true zest for life and enjoyed living, especially fishing and helping his neighbors. He loved the outdoors and truly enjoyed working with his son in his landscape business. Mr. Lewis was predeceased by his brother, Alton W. Lewis; his sister, Ernestine Johnson; and his nephew, Billy A. Lewis. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Ollie M. Lewis; his children, Woody (Susan) Lewis, Anne (Tidy) Singleton, and Kathy (Jack) Benson; his grandchildren, Tracey (Marc) Thomas, Jordan Benson, Hali Lewis, Clay Lewis, and Taylor Singleton; his great-grandchildren, Connor and Emma Thomas and Sydney Singleton Boscio; his sister, Jean King; and one nephew and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Paul's Anglican Church. A private family entombment will follow. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church one hour prior to service time. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul's Anglican Church Building and Grounds Fund, 710 Main Street, Conway, SC 29526.
