Ralph Best May 6, 1936 - November 23, 2014 Fork, S.C. Mr. Ralph Best, 78, husband of Eula Jean Thomas Best, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at McLeod Hospice House of Florence from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Best, a loving father and grandfather, was born May 6, 1936 in Marion County, a son of the late Leroy and Ernestine Harrelson Best. He was a retired security guard. He had served in the S.C. National Guard. Mr. Best, who loved helping people, was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Best in addition to his wife of the home are: 2 Daughters: Gloria Best DuBose of Florence and Lynn Best (Wallace) Cooper of Myrtle Beach; 3 Grandchildren: Danna Gray of Floydale, Adam Best (April) DuBose of Andrews and Ashley Danya Gray of Myrtle Beach; 4 Great Grandchildren; his Sisters and Brother: Clara Booth of Charlotte, N.C., Ted (Karline) Best of Columbia and Mary Ruth (George) Reaves of Myrtle Beach; and his Special Friends, his Puppies: Puddles and Snuggles. Mr. Best was predeceased by a brother, Edward Best. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Byrd and Rev. James Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Little Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Corley, Ina - Florence  
Ina Rabon Corley January 5, 1923 - November 24, 2014 Florence, SC Ina Rabon Corley, 91, of Florence, SC, died on Monday, November 24, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House. Born in Aynor, SC, to the late Joseph Isaiah and Ellen Floyd Rabon, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, H.W. Corley, Sr; five brothers; three sisters; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Casey Corley. Ina graduated valedictorian of Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, SC, and went on to graduate Business College in Columbia, SC. She later became a wife, mother and homemaker and worked alongside her late husband for 35 years as secretary of the family-owned and operated Southeastern Prosthetic Dental Laboratory in Florence, SC. Ina was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she served her Lord through her Sr. Adult Sunday School class, The Betty Mears Mission Group, The Triple L Club, and ministered to shut-in members. A devout Christian, whose hope was in Jesus Christ, Ina loved God's Word and enjoyed reading Christian novels. Her family describes her as being a tender-hearted, kind and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her Savior, family and friends, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her three daughters, Sandra (Danny) Keefe, Barbara (Mike) Spears, Carol (David) Greene; two sons, Butch (Cathy) Corley, Sammy (Emily) Corley of Florence, SC, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Cranford Jr., Lonnie C.  
Lonnie C. Cranford, Jr. Myrtle Beach Lonnie Clayton Cranford, Jr. age 84, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at his residence. Born in High Point, NC, he was the son of the late Edna Pope and Lonnie Clayton Cranford, Sr. Mr. Cranford was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in North Africa. He retired from Burger King after 30 years as District Manager for areas in both North and South Carolina. In his retirement, Mr. Cranford was an avid fisherman at Springmaid Pier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cranford. Survivors include a niece, Julie Monroe of Burlington, NC ;2 nephews, Jim Mitchell of Charlotte, NC and Bob Mitchell of Cary, NC; 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Daniels Sr., Rev. Joseph Charles  
Reverend Joseph Charles Daniels, Sr. Conway The Reverend Joseph Charles Daniels, Sr. 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014. Rev. Daniels was born on Howard Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, on August 28, 1926, to the late William C. and Ethel S. Daniels. He was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated from Thomasboro High School in 1943. He attended Mars Hill College for one year and then joined the United States Navy. Rev. Daniels served as a bugler and sonar man on the destroyer escort DE-221. He was specially selected for this station because of his keen sense of pitch. At the end of WWII, Rev. Daniels returned to Mars Hill to complete his Associate's Degree in Engineering. There in the Mars Hill College Marching Band he met his future wife, Della Rae Woodle Daniels, from Conway, South Carolina. Rev. and Mrs. Daniels were married for 62 years before her death in 2009. Rev. Daniels was employed first as a nurseryman, and then with the city of Charlotte for several years before taking a position with J. A. Jones Construction Company. Rev. Daniels was sent to Greenland to build an air strip, and while there, he served as Sunday School teacher and decided to enter the ministry. He attended Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer, North Carolina, completing his B.A. degree in English and graduating first in his class. He then entered Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and received his Master's Degree in Divinity in 1963. While a student at Duke, he served the First United Methodist Church in Landis, NC, and then a three church charge in the Alamance County area, Bethel, Camp Springs, and Mt. Vernon. After graduating from Duke, Rev. Daniels served the following United Methodist churches in the Western North Carolina Conference: Roberta-Harrisburg, Calvary-Asheboro, Montlieu Avenue-High Point, Central Shelby, Faith-Gastonia, St. Timothy-Brevard, and Westview-Hickory. He retired in 1990 from active ministry. He and Mrs. Daniels moved to Conway, South Carolina, and served as Volunteers in Mission to Medan, Indonesia, making their last trip in February, 2009. While serving in Indonesia, Rev. and Mrs. Daniels established twelve new churches on the island of Nias, Indonesia. Rev. Daniels is survived by his three children, Della Daniels Raines and husband Larry of Surfside Beach, SC, Joseph C. Daniels, Jr., and wife Monica of Athens, GA, and Janet Daniels Lawrence and husband Tim of Conway, SC; six grandchildren, Gregory Raines and wife, Jennifer, and their children Austin, Aiden, and Adam, Christopher Raines and wife, Jessica, and their daughter Charlotte, John Case and wife, Ashlee, and their son Elias, Jane Brooks and husband, Greg, Christian Daniels and her daughter, Adrianna, and Leanne Daniels; close personal friends Kim Wright, Mead Altman, and Teresa Stockton, and many members of his extended family. A celebration of Rev. Daniels' life will be held at First United Methodist Church, Conway, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. The family will receive friends following the celebration of Rev. Daniel's life in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Music Fund, First United Methodist Church, 1001 Fifth Avenue, Conway, South Carolina, 29526. Jeffrey Lewis Floyd March 2, 1959 ~ November 21, 2014 Charlotte, NC Jeffrey Lewis Floyd, 55, of Charlotte passed away on November 21, 2014. Jeff was born on March 2, 1959 to Faye Lee and the late Manning Floyd. He is also preceded in death by brothers, Rodney and Mike. Jeff was very outgoing, friendly and never met a stranger. He loved fresh and salt water fishing, working in his garden and watching NASCAR. He worked for Phillips and Jordan as a Heavy Equipment Operator. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 5-8PM at the home of his brother, Joe, 6405 Hove Road in Mint Hill. He is survived by his former wife, Robin Floyd; daughter, Jennifer Marie Floyd; mother, Faye Lee; brother, Joe Floyd (Paula); granddaughters, Breanna and Skyler; nieces/nephews, Jeremy, Manning, Austin and Morgan. Charles Furman Stevens June 1, 1931 - November 23, 2014 Conway Charles Furman Stevens, 83, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 1, 1931 in Horry County, a son of the late Needam and Nollie Royals Stevens. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Miriam "Sylvia" Hughes Stevens; four brothers, Walter, George, Pearlie and Johnny Stevens and three sisters, Mary Stevens Gause, Allie Stevens Hughes and Eva Stevens. Mr. Stevens enjoyed gardening, plants and music. Mr. Stevens is survived by four brother in laws, two sister in laws, a special cousin W.A. Royals, several nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Watson Funeral Services from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Watson Funeral Services with Rev. Mike Kinlaw, Rev. Roger Chestnut and Rev. David Watts officiating. Kaye Ramsey Thompkins December 1, 1954 - November 23, 2014 Conway Kaye Ramsey Thompkins, age 59, of Sherwood Drive, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at her residence. Kaye was born in Rock Hill, SC, a daughter of Bertha Ramsey and the late Jack Davis Ramsey. She was employed with the Horry County School District for 24 years. She was the most delightful person and was loved by everyone who knew her. Surviving in addition to her mother of Rock Hill, SC, are her husband Robert C. Thompkins of Conway; two sons, Bob Thompkins (Ann) of Myrtle Beach and John Paul Thompkins (Jennifer) of Conway; two grandchildren, Emily Thompkins and John Kelly Thompkins; two brothers, Jack D. Ramsey, Jr., (Johanna) of Mt. Pleasant; and Leonard C. Ramsey of Rock Hill, SC; one sister, Sheila Tompkins of Conway; two nephews, Cole Tompkins of Conway and Landon Ramsey of Ft. Mill, SC; and one niece, Madison Tompkins of Conway. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Waller, William A.  
William A. Waller Murrells Inlet William Anthony Waller age 79, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born in Warren, PA, he was a son of the late Francis and Evelyn Waller. William was a U.S. Korean War veteran serving as an artillery spotter. He was a butcher for over 60 years working in numerous shops in New York including Key Foods, Walbaums, David and Goliaths and Food Lion in South Carolina until retirement in 2007. He married Lucille Jean Parrella in June of 1957 and they had 3 sons. They moved to Myrtle Beach and eventually to Murrells Inlet. William was a former Myrtle Beach Lions member, an architecture committee chairman for the Spring Forest Community and was a Boy Scout leader for the NY council. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lucille Waller; sons, Robert Waller and his wife Catherine, William Waller and his wife Judy and Mark Waller; grandchildren, Christine Yoon Waller and William Yun Waller and wife Crystal all of New Mexico; great grandchildren, Kayla Ung Waller and William David Waller and Orrin Reilly Swiech. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM and 5-7 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. A prayer vigil will be said at 12:00 PM with Father Ed Fitzgerald officiating.
