Mary Jo Adkins Columbia Funeral Service for Mary Jo Adkins, 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, with burial to follow in Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington. The family will greet friends Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Adkins passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015. Born on Wachesaw Plantation in Murrells Inlet, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Oliver Fulton and Minnie Moore Fulton. She was the wife of the late Rudolph Page and the late Paul O. Adkins. Mrs. Adkins was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She loved the outdoors, particularly playing golf and attending Clemson football games. Surviving are her sons, William Rad Page (Anne) of Irmo; Michael Rudolph Page (Jennie) of Leesburg, Ga.; grandchildren, Bryce and Blake Page of Irmo. She is also survived by a brother, Ed Fulton of Nampa, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 6952 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29212. Bartkowski, Mary  
Mary M. Bartkowski June 26, 1945 - March 24, 2015 Myrtle Beach Mary M. Bartkowski, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 24, 2015. Born in Albany, NY on June 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (McCann) Smith. She married John W. Bartkowski on June 17, 1967 which began their 47 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving husband John W. Bartkowski of Myrtle Beach, SC,; and her cherished son and daughter-in law David and Michele Bartkowski of East Greenbush, NY. Mary's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at Conway Medical Center, Medstar Rehabilitation and Lower Cape Fear Hospice / Mercy for their dedication and excellent care as well as her many friends in Southcreek who visited and offered assistance whenever it was needed. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Bender, Mark S. - Little River  
Mark S. Bender October 21, 1944 - March 18, 2015 Little River Mark Stephen Bender, 70, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 21, 1944 in Dover, PA, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Leola J. Brubaker Bender. Mr. Bender was a licensed boat captain. He was a boater and fisherman at heart, but he loved his work in the real estate industry. He was a real estate broker and appraiser for many years before retirement. Mr. Bender was very active in outdoor interests, which included working with his camera and traveling. He loved playing cards and from time to time enjoyed wood carving and making crafts of glass. He and his wife, Flo-Ann, completed the American Great Loop Cruise on their own boat and received the Baccalooperate Degree. He was a member of Risen Christ Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 186, Seacoast Anglers Association, North Strand Power and Sail Squadron, and Marine Trawler Owners Association. Mr. Bender is survived by his son, Todd A. Bender; step daughters, Launa M. Staub, Stephanie A. Silvey; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Flo-Ann Bender. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, March 30 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Thomas Bush Murrells Inlet Thomas Bush age 90, died Monday, March 23, 2015 at his residence. Born in Roanoke, VA, he was a son of the late George Reese and Nannie Mae Hundley Bush. Mr. Bush was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Therese Bush and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Bush. Survivors include a son, Thomas Bush, Jr. of Murrells Inlet; a daughter, Monica Ogle of Willis, VA and son in law, Timothy H. Ogle; grandchildren, Kathleen A. Doris Jean Day Surfside Beach Doris Jean Day, age 83, was born October 23, 1931, the daughter of Thurman and Margaret Mayes. She was the eldest of two daughters, and was preceded in death by her sister Betty Walker and both parents. With an infectious personality, there was no one whom she met that didn't love her. Her kindness and generosity to others was known by many. She was quick witted and loved to play pranks and tell jokes. She was a volunteer for the City of Myrtle Beach for the past 15 years assisting her husband Sarge with Senior Bingo every Wednesday and Friday. She was a faithful servant of God and was actively involved in committee's supporting the Myrtle Beach SDA Church and Christian School. Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Douglas (Sarge) Williams; daughters Debra Miller of Bowie, MD, Patricia Swan of Hagerstown, MD and Shari Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as two nieces, three nephews and two cousins. The Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Myrtle Beach SDA Church, located on Carolina Forest Blvd. Visitation will occur one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery on Hwy 544. Ellison, Thomas W.  
Thomas W. Ellison Pawleys Island Thomas W. Ellison age 78, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late William and Freda Ellison. Tom earned a BSME from Drexel University in 1959 and a MSME from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1961. He worked as an engineer for 39 years with GE at KAPL in Schenectady, NY, and held various positions involving development of nuclear propulsion technology. Tom retired in 1998 and moved to Tradition in Pawleys Island in 2000. He served on the Covenants Committee and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. He enjoyed participating in the Heritage/Tradition Tennis Group, and Tradition Club Men's Golf League and Gold Tee Group. Tom served on the Tradition POA Board for the last 9 years, was a member of the Waccamaw Neck Civic Association, and Waccamaw Republican Club. He was an active member of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church and served on the Finance Committee. Devoted to his family, Tom was passionate about tennis, golf, gardening, skiing, genealogy, photography and world travel. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Ellison; children, Donna Briggs (Scott), Thomas, Jr. (Dianne), Timothy (Colleen) and Todd (Marrla); a sister, Ethel Curran; a brother, David Ellison (Marie); and 12 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church with Reverend Frank Holsclaw officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to PIPC, Tara Hall Home for Boys or to Tidelands Community Hospice. Etchison Sr., Roy - Calabash / Butler  
Roy Francis Etchison, Sr. Calabash Roy Francis Etchison, Sr. age 74 of Butler, PA and Calabash, NC, and formerly of Monroeville, PA passed away in Butler, PA on Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the afternoon. He married Harriet "Cindy" Lucinda Allen on July 14, 1962. His career spanned from 1965 until 2005 as he retired as a Project Estimator for Siemens Energy at the Penn Hall site. He was a member St. James Fisherman Episcopal Church of Shallotte, NC and a former member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Monroeville. He loved to travel and golf. He was a member of the Grand Strand Amateur Radio Club where he was a Level 4 Ham Radio Operator. Survivors include his loving wife Harriet "Cindy" Allen Etchison at home; two daughters, Cindy Cinotto and husband Mark of San Diego, CA; Terri Shimshock and husband Matthew of Fairview, NC; a son, Roy Etchison, Jr. and his wife Michelle of Rocklin, CA; six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church; 4941 Main Street, Shallotte, NC 28459 on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00am with Fr. David Davis of the church presiding. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Contributions may be given to The Julie Marie Lamanna Memorial Fund; The Pittsburgh Foundation, Five PPG Place, Suite 250; Pittsburgh, PA 15222 in memory of his niece.
