Basil Dudley Obituary

Basil Vance Dudley, 72, widow of the late Rebecca Smith Dudley, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Dudley was born February 23, 1938 in Marion, South Carolina. a son of the late Thomas Warren and Bertha Dawsey Dudley.
He is a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Mr. Dudley was the former owner, operator of Basil Grocery Store in Aynor, S.C.
Surviving are three sons, Kirk and Lori Dudley of Elgin, S.C., Jerry Dudley of Myrtle Beach, and Ted Dudley and Nikki of Galivants Ferry; one brother, Travis Dudley and his wife, Billie Ray, of Galivants Ferry; one sister, Loretta Roberts of Murrells Inlet; two grandchildren, Tyler Smith Dudley of Galivants Ferry and Coley Dean Dudley of Elgin, S.C.; and a special friend, Evelyn Johnson Holden.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Jordan and the Rev. Gordon Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 3, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
