Mildred E. Michael(Millie) age 83, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Millie was born in Hartford, CT., on December 7, 1930 a daughter of the late Herbert and Marie Buttero Ericson. She attended local schools in West Hartford and a community college in Hartford. She married her late husband Frederick W. Michael in 1954 and lived with him in Hanover, NH, where he owned a jewelry store before joining the US Agency for International Development. They spent many years overseas in Laos, Thailand, the Sudan and in Washington, DC before retiring to Myrtle Beach in 1980. She worked for the Office of Refugee Affairs in SE Asia and Washington, DC, and for the American Embassy in Khartoun. She did considerable volunteer work abroad and in the United States. Millie was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Myrtlewood Golf Club.
Survivors include two daughters: Wendy M. Michael of Ormond Beach, Fl. And Jill E. Michael of Myrtle Beach. Sister and Brother-in-law, Gail and Bruce Barton of Niantic, CT, niece: Lisa M. Barton of Atlanta, Ga.; nephew:, Bruce Adam Barton of Canton, CT. She also leaves two good friends of many years, Susan McNally Miller of Wethersfield, CT and Audrey Hoeft of Mocksville, NC.
