Mr. Robert Gregg Grant, 74, 5180 Hampton Ridge Road, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at Piedmont Medical Center..
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732, with Reverend Tony Adams officiating. Burial will be private.
Gregg was a Rock Hill native and the son of the late Robert and Inez H. Roach Grant and the widower of Patricia Stallard Grant. A life member of Aynor United Methodist Church, he was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Grady Lodge #357 A.F.M in Aynor and member of American Legion Post 122 in Prattville, Al. Gregg received an Associate of Science Degree from Troy State in 1994 and graduated from Troy State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1995. He was a retired civil engineer.
Surviving are two sons, Scotty Grant, of Kingsport, TN and Cameron Robert Grant and wife, Marteen, of Fort Bragg, NC; three daughters, Dede Grant, of Columbus, OH, Lisa Grant Cameron and husband, Jon, of Jupiter, FL and Angie Woods, of Kingsport; two brothers, Wayne Grant and wife, Linda and Ronnie Grant and wife, Nancy, all of Rock Hill; his sister, Lillie Auten and Husband, Everett, of Rock Hill; six grandchildren, Madison Grant, Marlin Hauff, Robin Hauff, Luca Podrecca, Cecelia Podrecca and Maggie Cameron. In addition to his parents and wife, Gregg was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Podrecca, and his grandson, Gabe Pitonak.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the services and other time at the home of Lillie and Everett Auten, 1100 Woodward Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
