Henry E. Dean
Henry E. "Ed" Dean, 88, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 30, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Henry E. and Edna Bausert Dean, Sr.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II aboard the USS Livermore. He was a graduate of Jamaica High School in Queens, NY and attended Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. Ed and his wife, Marion, were married on February 1, 1947. He was employed as a sales representative with PPG Paint Division for a number of years, then as Job Supervisor at Schiller Decorator Company in New York City. In 1960, Ed and Marion formed Edmar Caning Shop in Commack, Long Island, NY. In 1986 they retired to the Carolinas. Ed had many interests, including boating, bowling, opera, playing the organ and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marion; daughter Carol and husband Steve and granddaughter, Kristen of Wilmington, NC; daughter Linda, and granddaughter, Tracy and three great grandchildren of New Bern, NC.
At Ed's request, his body will be cremated, with no viewing or services.
