Marius "Dave" Dunkin Ross, 86, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 8, 1926, in Jackson, Miss., the son of the late Alphonse and Rossie Lavinia Dunkin Ross.
Mr. Ross was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He worked for 35 years at AT&T before retiring. Golfing, bowling, camping and gardening were his hobbies. He will be remembered for the love he graciously shared with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Alliene Ross; his daughter, Mona Prufer and her husband Kyle of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandsons, James (Jamey) T. Trotter III and his wife Kelsey Westmoreland Trotter of Denver, Colo.; and John Gregory Trotter and his wife Kerry Leonard Trotter of Highwood, Ill.; and two great-granddaughters, Savannah Mabel Trotter and Eleanor June Trotter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2013, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
