Russell "Russ" Bryan Shillingburg, Jr.
May 24, 1925 - June 29, 2014
Little River
Russell "Russ" Bryan Shillingburg Jr., 69, passed peacefully Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born in Mt. Storm, WV on May 24, 1925 to the late Russell Bryan Shillingburg and Mabel Virginia Fisher Shillingburg Arnold.
He was a WWII Navy Veteran with the VC-77. He served aboard the USS Rudyerd Bay (CVE-81). He retired from Safeway after 30+ years of employment. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-¬grandfather and friend. He enjoyed playing golf and dancing with his "Pearly". He was an active member of the VFW and former member of the Moose Lodge.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ethel Pearl Geenan Shillingburg, brothers, Glenn E. Shillingburg, William "Billy" E. Shillingburg, sisters, Janet L. Shillingburg Rexrode, Phylis June Shillingburg.
He is survived by four sons Gary Wayne Shillingburg and wife Laura, Richard "Ric" Bryan Shillingburg and wife Patricia "Patty", Chis Allen Shillingburg and wife Martha "Mar", Randy Lynn Shillingburg and wife Stephanie, one daughter Gloria Jean Shillingburg Carbin, one uncle Ardell Charles Fisher and wife Lorrell, one Aunt Catherine Juanita Fisher Moreland and husband Eugene, many grand¬children, great grand¬children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial services will be held at Lee Funeral Home 11840 Hwy 90 Little River, SC on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 @ 4 pm, with interment at a later date.
