Virginia Pope Capps, 63, wife of Jimmy V. Capps, Sr., passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Capps was born in Hemingway, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Louise Welch Pope. She was a retired Williamsburg County school teacher, a member of Outland Church of God and was active in the Georgetown County Farm Bureau. She had a lifelong love for and devotion to children's ministry. She was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and received her Masters of Education from Cambridge University in Boston, MA.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Jimmy V. Capps, Sr.; children, Gennie (Barry) Cabiness, Stephanie (Brandon) Gibson and Jimmy (Gina) Capps, Jr.; brothers, Thomas E. Pope and John D. (Suzanne) Pope; 6 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Outland Church of God. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Williams Hill Free Will Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Outland Church of God, 22075 Choppee Road, Hemingway, SC 29554.
