Jesse (Bud) Blount Lyon II, died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at McLeod Seacoast Medical Center.
Born on September 16, 1943 in Durham County, NC, he was a son of the late J. B. Lyon and Catherine Husketh Lyon. Mr. Lyon was employed by Monsanto Company in Research Triangle Park, NC for several years before moving to Baltimore, MD and working as a metallurgist for the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company for 27 years. Mr. Lyon lived in Pasadena, MD until relocating to North Myrtle Beach, SC in 2003. Mr. Lyon's wife, Jeanette Brosius Lyon, survives him.
Mr. Lyon is also survived by his daughter, Catherine Lyon Thomas (Fred) of Gibsonville, NC; two granddaughters Ashleigh Thomas Eisch (Michael) of Durham, NC and Heather Thomas Slott (Steven) of Graham, NC; and two great grandsons Cole Thomas Eisch and Steven Davis Slott III.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday March 29, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Banks United Methodist Church, 2632 NC Hwy 96, Franklinton, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Salvation Army or the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, PO Box 3369, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
