Bessie Mazelle Clewis Brown Ludlam
August 23, 1938 - March 25, 2014
Bessie Mazelle Clewis Brown Ludlam, age 75, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Conway Medical Center.
Mrs. Ludlam was born in Whiteville, NC, the daughter of the late Arthur Clewis and Delphia Canady Clewis. She was a member of Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, sewing and singing in church. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Beth Cardosi for their loving care of Mazelle.
Mrs. Ludlam was predeceased by two husbands, first, Ellis O'Neil Brown and second, Herman Alva Ludlam; one son Stanley Herman Ludlam; and two brothers, Johnny Clewis and Bill Thompson.
Survivors include: three sons, Vicky Ludlam (Gina), Ricky Ludlam (Tammy) all of Conway and Ellis O'Neil (Wanda) Brown Jr. of Loris; two daughters, Bessie Elaine Skipper (Danny Ray) and Delphia B. Rabon (Tobie) all of Conway; eleven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy Clewis and Mary and Sam Clewis and Nancy both of Conway; three sisters ,Minnie Hucks and Willie, Nora Freeman and Willard, and Mary Cooper all of Conway.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday at White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church with Robert Ellis Brown, Rev. Buddy Seay and Rev. Stephen Hyman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Thursday until the service time on Friday at White Savannah Free Will Baptist Church.
