Arthur Andrew Wieder, 95, long time resident of N. Myrtle Beach, passed away April 16, 2014 at The Cottages of Brushy Creek, Greer, SC.
Born July 27, 2918 in Brooklyn, NY, Arthur was the son of the late Arthur and Maria Wieder.
He retired from the US Army as Lieutenant Colonel and served during World War II in Army Intelligence. He worked with the National Security Agency until his retirement in 1974.
Arthur was the founder of Wieder's Wanderers Golf Group and it is still active today. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
He was a member of Trinity UMC, Myrtle Beach and a current member of St. Matthew UMC, Greenville.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Thomas Harvey, of Greenville; his brother and sister-in-law, Alexander and Frances Wieder, of Yonkers, NY; stepsons, Larry Bernard of Myrtle Beach and George (Sue) Bernard of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Dr. Marc (Erika) Harvey, of Matthews, NC and Karyn (Paul) Brooker of Milton, GA; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Robyn, Gabriel and Noah Harvey and Andrew and Anna Claire Brooker.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor L. Wieder, his second wife, Eleanor J. Wieder, and his brothers, George and Alfred Wieder.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:30am at St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
