Marilyn D. Anderson
Marilyn Alice Anderson, 66, died Monday at Conway Medical Center. Marilyn was born in Easton PA. She was the youngest of five children to the late Jesse R. and Mary Alice DeGroff. She grew up in Broadway, NJ and graduated from Washington High School in 1966. She went onto to work as a secretary of Picatinny Arsenal in Denver, NJ. up until she married Harold (Hank) Anderson in 1971. They then relocted to Enfield, CT for the past 40 years. She continued her education at Asnuntuck Community College and graduated with a 4.0, which she and her family were proud of. She had a passion for geneology and crafting to which she did beautiful work. Marilyn and family hosted 13 foreign exchange students through the years. Through her life she was also involved with the Somers Village Players, DAR, and the Red Hat Organization. She has spent the last 2 1/2 years in the Hillsborough Community in Conway. There she had an active life and made many cherished friendships. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Harold(Hank), 2 sons H. Michael (Cyndi)-Long Beach, CA, Eric M.(Gail)- Ventura, CA. 3 Brothers, Wayne E. DeGroff(Velma)-Port Murray, NJ, Jesse A. DeGroff(Joan)- Phillipsburg, NJ, Bruce A. DeGroff(Maureen)-Washington, NJ, Sister Charlotte E. Stenlake-Somers, CT. 2 Grandchildren, Joseph Martin and Lily. Marilyn also had many nieces and nephews that she also loved. A memorial service will be held at their Hillsborough home on June 7, 2014 at 10 am. and in New Jersey at a later date.
