Born July 10, 1935 in Hartsville, SC to George Thornton DuRant and Floride Roof DuRant. Suzanne graduated in 1957 from Coker College and then did graduate work in medical technology at the Medical University of SC. While in Charleston, she met an Air Force officer, Don Gonya, from New Hampshire.

Suzanne is survived by Don, her devoted husband of 55 years, and her three children, Jeffrey and wife, Ann, of Baltimore, MD, Karen Nickles and husband, Lance, of Ellicott City, MD and Gail Willard and husband, Christopher, of Raleigh, NC. Suzanne is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Caroline and Jeffrey "Jay" Gonya, Jr., Garrett and Claire Nickles, and Keenan, Emma and Davis Willard; all of whom she loved beyond measure.
Suzanne was a generous and gracious woman. She will be remembered for the love and laughter that she shared during her well-lived life.
