James Ronald "Ron" Hucks

James Ronald "Ron" Hucks, 63 passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 7, 1953 in Horry County,
a son of the late Jim H. and Sadie Beverly Hucks.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Charles David Hucks Sr. and one son, James Richard Hucks.
Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his church and serving his Lord. Ron had a servant heart and always put the needs of others before himself. He served his community for 40 years as a first responder, EMT and was a former Fire Chief of Cates Bay Fire Station #16. To friends and family he was affectionately known as PapaBear, and he always had a funny story or joke to tell.
Mr. Hucks is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Liz Hucks; two daughters, Wendy Hucks Moran and her fiancé David Caron and Kimberly Hucks Calhoun and her husband Mark; one brother, MacArthur Hucks (Debbie); one sister, Joyce Larrimore; four grandchildren, Hayes Everette Calhoun, Hadden James Calhoun, Carson Robert Moran, Conner Victoria Moran, their father Kevin Moran, and many other family and friends who will miss him.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 26, 2017 at Watson Funeral Service from 6pm until 8pm.
Funeral Services will be held 3pm Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Conway Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Cannon and Rev. Paul Lambert officiating.
Burial will follow at Pauley Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery.
