Mrs. Blanche Mink DeHaven, 79, of Milton, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison, Ind.
Blanche entered this life on July 23, 1933 in Pineville, Ky. She was the loving daughter of the late, John & Mary Durham Mink. She was raised in Cincinnati and was a graduate of Clay - Lynchburg High School. She was united in marriage in 1965 to Donald DeHaven. They resided in Houston, Texas from 1960-1986. She was employed for 15 years as a secretary at Baylor University Medical School in Waco, Texas. They moved near Xenia, Ohio for five years and after Don's death she moved to Milton, Kentucky in 1994. She was raised in and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Cincinnati, Ohio. Blanche enjoyed membership in the Milton Women's Club and Milton Homemaker's Club. She had attended the Milton United Methodist Church. Blanche enjoyed working as a clerk for Big Lots in Madison and at the Madison Wal-Mart. She liked gardening, sewing, cooking and being a devoted granny.
Blanche is survived by: her daughter, Nancy Baker and her husband, Grayson of Hanover, Ind.; 2 sons: Timothy Joseph Lock of Brownsville, Texas, Thomas Alan Lock of Hanover, Ind.; her devoted granddaughter: Amber Townsend of Indianapolis, Ind.; her brother: Glenn W. Mink of Cleves, Ohio; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters, Mary Rose Thomas, Doris Violet Mink and Ann Stevens Pike.
Services were held Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison, Ind. with Rev. Mike McArter officiating.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the New Burlington Cemetery in Chester Township, Ohio.
