Joy (Mikesell) Cable(1934 - 2013)

Joy Mikesell Cable, age 78, of Milton, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the home of her daughter in Carrollton. Joy entered this life on Aug. 3, 1934 in Anderson, Ind. She was the loving daughter of the late, Printice Roosevelt and Hazel Lee Covington Cable. She was raised in Lancaster, Ind. and attended school there. On Oct. 21, 1949 she was united in marriage to Garrett Robert Cable in Lancaster, Ind. This happy union was blessed with two daughters and three sons. The family moved to Milton, Ky., in 1951 and resided there the rest of her life. Joy was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandma. She was an artist at heart and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the Living Church of God in Charlestown, Ind. She enjoyed membership in the Milton Homemaker's Club and the Madison Art Gallery.
Joy will be missed by her loving daughter, Melanie Truitt and her husband, Les of Carrollton; her loving sons, Rob Cable and his wife Brenda of Madison, Ind., Clay Cable and his wife, Lisa of Carrollton; Terry Cable and his wife, Gretta of Milton; her loving sisters, Lora Gayle and her husband, Dee of Lancaster, Ind., Lillie Wingham and her husband, Tommy of Brooksburg, Ind.; her loving brothers, Donnie Mikesell and his wife, Rose of Madison, Ind., Gerald "Buddy" Mikesell and his wife, Clara of Lancaster, Ind.; her grandchildren: Gina Cable, Lora Cable, Angelea Andrews, Jessica Hughes, Jacklyn Fink, Danny Ice-Cable, Casey Cable, Garrett Cable and Hannah Cable; her step-grandchildren: Stephanie, Stacie, Amanda and Kasey; 11 great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Printice Roosevelt and Hazel Lee Covington Mikesell; her husband, Garrett Robert Cable died, October 12, 2005; her daughter, Penny Ann Cable; her granddaughters, Samantha J. Cable died, August 9, 1999 and Amanda Cable died, December 25, 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at 11 a.m., by Lambert Greer at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Ind.
