Dennis James 'Red Bud' Aldridge, 69, of Milton, entered this life on August 24, 1948, in Henry County, Ky. He was the loving son of the late James and Angela Hawkins Aldridge. He was raised in Henry County and was a 1966 graduate of Henry County High School. Dennis was first united in marriage to Betty Lynn and they were blessed with a daughter, Deidra and he adopted Troy, Cassandra and Charlie. Dennis was known as 'Red Bud' growing up due to his red hair. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being out on the land and the outdoors. He was later united in marriage to Janice Bernice Cope on June 5, 1993, in Carrollton, Ky. This union blended their two families together and they raised five daughters and eight sons. Dennis had resided the past 26 years in Trimble County. He worked thirty-five years for Arvin Meritor as a machinist before retiring in November 2009. Dennis was a man who always wanted something to do, so he worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Madison and with Madison Precision. He was a faithful member of Milton Christian Church where he served as a deacon. Dennis died on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at 2:47 p.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Dennis will be missed by his loving wife of 25 years, Janice Bernice Cope Aldridge of Milton; his daughters, Rhonda Lipperd and her husband Robert of Versailles, Ind., Mary Griffin of Versailles, Pamela Ault of New Albany, Ind., Deidra Stangle and her husband Joseph of Henry County, Ky., Sandra and her husband David Craddock of Phelan, Calif.; his sons, David Ault and his wife Laura of Salem, Ind., Donnie Ault and his companion, Sarah of Scottsburg, Indiana, Michael Ault and his wife Patricia of Brownstown, Ind., Terry Ault of Bedford, Ind., Troy Aldridge and his wife Rajean of Florence, Ky., Charlie Aldridge of Florence; his daughter-in-law, Tammy Ault of Medora, Ind.; his sister, Joan Ellegood and her husband John of Bedford, Ky.; his nephew, William Anthony Ellegood of Edinburgh, Ind.; 48-grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debbie Newbank and her husband, Steve of Austin, Ind., Brenda Cope of Austin, Dathma Baker and her husband, Rick of Austin, James Cope of Milton, Ky., Rick Cope and his wife, Mavis of Whiteland, Ind.; Steve Hopper of Austin; several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, James Aldridge, his mother, Angela Hawkins Aldridge, his sons, Claude Randy Ault and Earl Ault, Jr., and his grandson, Justin Ault.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2018, by Bro. Clifton Hartley at the Milton Christian Church, 35 School Hollow Road in Milton. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Milton.
