Gene Hereford Obituary

Gene Hereford, 84, of Madison, Ind., died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Mr. Hereford was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Milton, Ky., to Burr Patton Sr. and Amanda May Auxier Hereford.
He served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie (John) Larson, Anchorage, Ky., and Linda (Richard) Templton, Trout Lake, Wash.; a sister, June (Bill) Nighbert of Madison; a brother, George (Anna Mae) Hereford; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie "Edie" (Stoner) Hereford; and four brothers, Jack, James, Burr Jr. and Toby Hereford.
Services were Monday, Sept. 15, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison. Military honors were presented by the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Ceremonial Unit and American Legion Jefferson Post 9 of Madison. Burial was Moffett Cemetery in Milton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Horse Rescue.
