Lawrence Craig "Punk" Andrew, 86
CASSELBURY, Fla. – Lawrence Craig "Punk" Andrew, 1931-2017. A Trimble County Ky. native, Lawrence Craig "Punk" Andrew passed peacefully at his home on October 1, 2017, at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances Chappell Andrew; daughters Carolyn Maraugha of Winter Park, Fla., and Marilyn Kinsel (Ed) of Palm Bay, Fla.; grandsons Jeremy and Dustin Maraugha of Orlando, Fla. and Ashley and Logan Kinsel of Palm Bay, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Francis Andrew and mother Lelah Vivian Craig both of Wises Landing, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Andrew Dean of Bedford and Gloria Andrew Schwab of Louisville; and 24 half brothers and sisters.
Growing up there was nothing he liked more than to spend time down on Barebone Creek, swimming the Ohio River and selling chicken eggs to Roy Barickman. Punk set out on a distinguished career when he enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17. While in the service, Punk served as an aircraft mechanic in both the Strategic Air Command and Material Airlift Command. He served proudly for 22 years and retired to Florida in 1971. His second career with Allied Department Stores began shortly after arriving in Florida where he worked as the Dock Master and retired after 23 years of dedicated service. He was loved and respected by everyone who worked with him.
He will be forever remembered as a loving and patient husband, father and papa who cherished his family above all. Life fades but memories are forever.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Comforter for their care and compassion.
A private memorial service will be held in his honor.
