Dr. Phyllis Lynn Spurr DO


Dr. Phyllis Lynn Spurr, 53, of Flatwoods, formerly of Carrollton, died at Ashland Community Hospice on Saturday Feb. 16, 2013.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb.23, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home. Cremation has been chosen by the family.
Dr. Spurr was a veteran of the US Army and served in Germany for most of her enlisted time. She achieved the rank of sergeant and was a Russian Linguist Specialist. She was present when the Berlin Wall was demolished.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Eileen Rowlet Spurr Moore and Jerry Moore of Bloomington, Ind.; two brothers Michael Spurr of Carrollton and Archie Brian Spurr of Bedford; and a sister Susan Spurr Clark of Erlanger, Ky. She is also survived by four nephews, one niece, a step-niece; three uncles and many other relatives and friends.
Her father, Archie Spurr, her grandparents and an infant niece preceded her in death.
