Sanford "Pud" Allen Pierce, 75
BEDFORD, Ky. - Sanford "Pud" Allen Pierce, 75, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at his residence. He was born on Nov. 1, 1942 in Covington, Ky. to the late William Allen, and Louise Bonham Pierce.
"Pud" served his country proudly in the United States Army. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed playing basketball and baseball where he was first baseman. He also enjoyed his time spent as women's softball coach. Pud retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Trimble County. He enjoyed his flowers, fishing, hunting, whittling, and meeting with his friends at Little Town and Country, and Poppy's
He leaves to mourn in his passing his children, Todd Aaron Pierce and his wife Faith of Bedford, Lee Ann Copeland and her husband James of Lexington, Ind., and Dee Ann Pierce and her companion Andrew Pickett of Madison, Ind.; his grandchildren, Kayla LeAnn Pickett, Asher Elijah Pierce, and Emery Kate Pierce.
"Pud" is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 14, at Ransdell Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Gregg Fisher officiating.
Burial followed in Bedford Cemetery, in Bedford.
