Stanley R. Lowe, age 70, former New Castle resident, residing in Milton, Kentucky, went home to be in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at King's Daugh-ters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
He was born October 31, 1942 in New Castle, Indiana a son of the late Alonzo and Elizabeth Davis Lowe.
He served an enlistment with the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. He was a born again Christian and was a member of the Milton, Kentucky Baptist Church. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation after 36 years of service. He was a member of United Auto Workers #371. He was a co-founder of the Babe Ruth Baseball League for girls in New Castle. He loved family activities, and sharing time with his family, and friend's playing cards. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, camping, and outdoor games, especially shuffleboard. He treasured life, and delighted in playing tricks on his family and friends. He will be remembered as one who truly loved people, and having fun with them. He will be greatly missed. He was an outstanding musician, playing the piano and guitar and loved singing with his family, and playing and singing in church for the Lord. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida, and living on the Ohio, River.
Left to cherish his loving memory include his wife of 29 years, Peggy Ann Miller Lowe; 2 daughters, Tracie Chaney (husband Chester) of New Castle, Indiana and Julie Manning (husband Barry) of Mississippi; 2 sons, Jack Lowe of New Castle, Indiana and Roger Lowe (wife Doloris) of Girardeau, Missouri; 1 step-son, Victor Claar (wife Goldie) of Mt. Summit, Indiana; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Audrey Upchurch, Barbara Johnson (husband Jim), Sharon Brewer, and Mildred Wolfe; 2 brothers, Jerry Lowe (wife Tina) and Danny Lowe (wife Lillian); also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son, Jeffrey D. Lowe; sister, Sarabell Thompson; 2 brothers, James Lowe and Raymond Lowe; step daughter, Deanna Claar; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Linder.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2013 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 5, 2013 at the Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Reverend Ferrell Davis, Jill Linder, and Roger Lowe all officiating. Burial was in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
Military Honors were conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
