Paul Elwin Myers

Paul Elwin Myers was born in King City, Missouri, on April 14, 1921, where he attended school and worked with the McCammon Truck Line, before enlisting in WW II, at Leavenworth, Kansas. He served in the Army Air Corps for four years being based in Wichita Falls, Amarillo, and San Antonio, TX and for nine months in Okinawa. He married Pauline Moore in Amarillo, TX on November 20, 1943. They lived in Amarillo and San Antonio, Texas, and King City, Missouri, before moving to Midland in 1951. Paul was a faithful member of the Crestview Baptist Church. He worked for K & K Tire Co., the Midland Hardware Company, before beginning with the Midland Independent School District in 1955, as the Supervisor of Warehousing and Transportation, where he remained until 1982, when he retired. Paul Elwin Myers, 91, died at Senior Care on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Services will be at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. John Gerlach of Crestview Baptist officiating. Interment will be in the Eternal Light Mausoleum at Resthaven Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Pauline of the home; two brothers, Terry N. Myers, Kansas City, Missouri, and John J. Myers of Flower Mound, Texas; a sister, Ellanora Thornton of Kansas City, Missouri; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Dygert of Dallas, TX and Wilma Lehman of Conroe, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding Mr. Myers in death were his parents, John H. and Estella Leota (Lewis) Myers; three brothers, William F. Myers, Dale Russell Myers, Jack L. Myers; two sisters, Fern Lucille (Myers) Stephenson and Ruby Mae (Myers) Day. Pallbearers will be Rixie Sipes, Randal Dygert, John J. Myers, Donnie D. Day, Ken Graniezny, and Jack McCreery. Honorary pall- bearers will be Bill Stieghan, Oscar Martinez, and Mickey Sanders. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to: Building Fund, Crestview Baptist Church, 301 N.
