Billy Sam Fife passed away, at home, on August 22, 2012. The family will have visitation on Friday, August 24, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with funeral services and burial immediately following, all to be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Steve McMeans officiating. Sam was born January 19, 1952, to J.M. and Betty Fife in Odessa, TX. He married Janie Lynn Wagner, June 12, 1971. Sam loved his family above all. He never hesitated to put them first and did all he could to take care of them. Sam was a people person and he loved a good story. He was the heart and soul of Goldsmith and rarely wanted to be where he couldn't see the flare. Sam left this world somewhat unexpectedly. He was dearly loved by many and will be sorely missed. Sam was truly one of a kind. Sam is preceded in death by his father, J.M. Fife, and his brother, Craig Fife. Sam is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janie; his daughters, Janae Willhite and husband, Kevin, Leigh Haas and husband, Shane; his brother, Tom Fife and wife, Melinda; his mother, Betty Fife; mother-in-law, Mona Wagner; his grandchildren, Colton Williams, Julia and Madelyn Haas, Brooke and Cash Willhite; niece, Leesa Thomas and husband, Mickey; nephews, Doug Fife and wife, Stephanie, Dan Fife and wife, Amanda; as well as numerous other close friends and family.
