Bobby C. Hodges, 69, of Midland, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, December 16, 2013, at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 23, 1944, in Richardson, Texas, to the late Charlie and Jewel Hodges. Bobby was raised and educated in Garland, Texas, and graduated from Texas State School for the blind. He also attended school in Pasadena, Texas, where he received a certificate as a Piano Technician. Bobby later moved to Lovington, New Mexico, where he met and later married the love of his life, Linda Parum, on August 11, 1964. Bobby worked as a piano technician most of his life. He was born legally blind, but that never prevented him from pursuing his dream as a piano technician. Bobby enjoyed fishing, bargaining, and spending time with his family. He will be missed greatly. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Alma Jordan and Martha Scott. He is survived by his wife, Linda Hodges; son, Bobby "Charlie" Hodges II; daughter, Tammy Hodges, all of Midland; grandchildren, Tommy Wilson, Courtney Mendoza, Joshua Pittman, Brittany Hodges, and Christopher Austin, all of Midland; three great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Receiving of friends will be tonight from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel. Funeral service is set for Friday, December 20, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at West Kentucky Baptist Church, with Brother Bob Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
