Carol Joan Adams, 67, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at her home, with her family at her side. She was born July 17, 1945, to the late Tommy Edmund Shoemake and Mattie Lee Cumbie Shoemake. Carol spent most of her childhood in Snyder, Texas. She married Gerald Nelson Adams on Aug. 23, 1963. They lived in Snyder and Kermit, before making Midland their home in 1976. Carol moved to Lubbock, Jan. 2012. While in Midland, Carol was a real estate agent/broker for several years, she worked for Texaco and owned a pipe company with her husband, before retiring in 2003. She leaves behind her son, Devan Adams and wife, Lacey of Midland; two daughters, Michele Adams of Lubbock and Lindy Tefteller and husband, Paul of Midland; five grandchildren, Calvin Adams, Conner Tefteller, Brandt Adams, Bryce Adams, and Emma Tefteller; and her sister, Joyce Castro and husband, Robert of Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Mattie Shoemake; brothers, Howard Shoemake, Bill Shoemake, and Steve Shoe- make; and her sister, Barbara Price. A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a reception.
