Cathy Williams-King, 59, a current resident of Cedar Hill, TX, and former Midland resident, departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2012, in Sunnyvale, TX. She was born June 8, 1953, in Lamesa, TX, to Pete French, Jr. and Elnora Williams-Robinson. Cathy leaves to cherish her memory her husband and best friend, Wanza King; daughter, Marlayna King; mother, Elnora Robinson; sister, Laura (Curtis) Butler; brothers, Morris (Charlotte) Williams, Sr.; John Hawkins; Ronald McCoy; Wayne French; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Cathy grew up in Midland and was a graduate of Midland High School's Class of 1971. She graduated from Midland College and later went to work for Southwestern Bell (AT&T), where she was a dedicated employee, until she retired. Cathy was a devoted wife who along with her husband, loved hosting family and friends at their home. She also was a sports fan that loved the Dallas Mavericks. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas. Services entrusted to Golden Gate Funeral Home.
