Cody Hounshell Obituary

Cora "Cody" Hounshell, age 94, of Early, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Cross Plains; burial will follow in the Ross Cemetery in Baird, Texas. She was born on October 23, 1915 in Coleman County to Rufus Wilson and Edna (Jones) Phillips. She married William Martin "Bud" Hounshell on November 1, 1936. "Cody" as she was known by her friends worked for the Goldsmith ISD as a bus driver and in the cafeteria for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters Joan Roach and Mary Beth McMillan; sons Horace E. Hounshell, Gary K. Hounshell and Larry G. Hounshell; sister Nora Williams; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson.

Larry-

I noticed that your mother passed away recently. I extend my condolences. It looks like she lived a good long life.

Haven't seen or heard about you for a long, long time since our days in Pecos. Donna and I are still in Midland. If you're ever passing through, give us a call.
