Doris Jane Jiles of Midland, Texas valiantly fought a year-long battle with cancer and is now with her Heavenly Father. Visitation will be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland on Monday afternoon through Wednesday with a formal visitation on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 6 - 8 pm. She passed away peacefully on June 20, 2013 in Midland, Texas. Ms. Jiles was 73 years young; she was born in Henrietta, Oklahoma on March 11, 1940. She was the proud daughter of Thurman and Merle Reynolds. She lived in Midland, Texas since 1960 where she raised her two surviving children Kala (Jiles) Schmidt of Midland, Texas and Jay Jiles, along with his family Laurie (Schmidt) Jiles, two grandchildren Kelsey Jiles and Kendall Jiles from Pine, Colorado. Ms. Jiles worked for CRW Corporation until retiring to pursue her love of horses. She raised barrel horses for competition as well as her pet miniature horses, all of course after she tended to her beloved dogs. Before falling ill, she stayed very busy on her small ranch where she actively managed the day to day care and upkeep of the property. No task was too small for her and if you were in need she was the first to lend a helping hand, but never short of friendly advice. Her eyes always lit up at the mention of her children and her two grandchildren. She was a proud and very much loved mom, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her siblings: Gladys Thomas, Judy Wilkinson, Kay Middleton and Matt Reynolds as well as her many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a wonderful treasure to always hold in your heart. Miss you forever & love you always. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be given to The National
. Graveside services will be held at the Ula Cemetery in Westcliffe, Colorado at 10:00 am on Saturday June 29, 2013. She will be laid to rest next to her parents Thurman and Merle Reynolds.
