Ellen Noel Obituary
Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Westminster Presbyterian Church - Odessa.
She was a very dedicated individual to the Permian Basin in many ways. She always felt that one must give back to our community in all ways possible.
Ellen was the wife of the late W. D. Noel. Their generosity to their hometown, Odessa, Texas, reaches far and wide. After his death in 1987, she continued their legacy. Her endeavors include the Noel Heritage Plaza, the Ellen Noel Art Museum, which was named in her honor, High Sky Children's Ranch, UTPB Development Board, numerous scholarships, and most recently the performing Arts Center for UTPB. She was a graduate of Duke University and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
She is survived by; two daughters, Mrs. Cyril (Melissa Noel) Wagner (Cy) of Midland and Ms. Sherwood Noel McGuigan of Durango, Colorado, and grandchildren John F. McGuigan, Jr. (Mary), Sherwood Wagner, Noel Cyril Wagner (Kelly), Wes Wagner (Laura Ann), Adam Wagner (Carol) and Leigh Wagner. Also surviving her are three greatgrandchildren; Cyril Wagner Bergner, Noel Cyril Wagner, Ellen Leland Wagner.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Ellen Noel Art Museum - 4909 East University Blvd. Odessa, Texas 79762.

Aunt Ellen was a great Aunt to me and I think of her often. Sherwood I will always remember the time you let me visit you in D.C. it was a great trip...Lissa I got to go to camp in Taos because you had so much fun there, boy was I a duck out of water...your Uncle Heston would be proud of his family and so am I...love and care, Winn

My prayers and thoughts are with your family at this time. I have met Mrs. Noel many times while doing service work at her residence. Shes a very sweet lady, and will be greatly missed by all.
