Oh, our Markey! With his heart of gold and caring spirit, everyone he encountered was drawn to him. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten, as his legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of the many people who his life touched. Our sweet Mark Anthony Varela was 19. Born in Midland, Texas, on September 16, 1992, he passed away too early for our earthly minds to understand, on July 28, 2012. He is survived by parents, Ann Margaret Sandate and Tony Varela; his sisters, Yvonne Nicole Varela and Lauren Danielle Yharte; and brother, Nathan Isaiah Varela; maternal grandparents, Carlos Madrid Sr. and Sheila Sandate-Madrid; paternal grandfather, Marcos Varela; and maternal great grandmother, Andrea Menchaca-Sandate; aunts, Verna Mendoza and husband, Richard; Corina Carrillo and husband, Ralph; Crystal Ochoa and husband, Arnold; and Colleen Madrid; Janette Varela; and Silvana Varela; uncle, Carlos Madrid, Jr. and wife, Marcy; Freddy Varela. He also leaves behind the numerous cousins that loved him dearly and would run to hug him as soon as he walked through the door. Mark worked at the Bosworth Company and recently graduated from Lee High School in 2011. Mark's family and friends will gather together to celebrate the 19 wonderful years we've been blessed to share with him on Thursday, August 2, 2012, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Mid Cities Community Church, 8700 W. Hwy 191, Midland, Texas 79707. Mark Varela will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery, although his family knows his spirit lives on in complete peace with his heavenly father. "A thousand words won't bring you back, I know because I've tried; neither will a thousand tears I know because I've cried. Now you're up in heaven with the angels up above; they will take my place for now and give you all their love. So go and rest in peace now, my little boy so dear, for all my love and memories I'll hold forever near." Funeral services are under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home.
