Martin Blea Obituary

On November 15, 1993, Martin Sr. and Angie Blea were blessed with their son Martin Blea, Jr. (Blea-Baby Marty). For 17 years he brought great joy to his family and friends with his joyful spirit and loving heart. On May 21, 2011, he was called to be with his Heavenly Father, but his memories will always remain in the hearts of those who loved him, especially his family. Martin is survived by his parents, Martin Sr. and Angie Ramirez Blea both of Midland. He will always be "Baby Marty" to his three brothers, Michael David Torres of Midland, Zachery Blea and Justin Blea both of Washington State; and his two sisters, Raquel Torres and Linda Blea both of Midland. He was truly loved and spoiled by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Erlinda Blea of Midland, and maternal grandmother, Consuelo Ramirez of Hereford, Texas. Waiting for him in Heaven are his paternal grandfather Antonio Ramirez; his aunts and uncles George Ramirez, Juanita Ramirez, and Elva Ramirez. Blea was a tremendous achiever. His dreams and goals were many, but his main goal was to make people around him smile, and bring laughter and joy into their lives, which he truly accomplished. He was loved by all the people whom he touched. Blea was a junior with the MISD, but his great efforts in achieving brought his credits up to where he would have graduated earlier. His parents will he honored to receive his graduating certificate during a Friday ceremony. Blea had so many interest, among them welding. He had just completed a welding course through Midland College. In Blea's life there was never a dull moment. If he was not at his job at Casita Gerardo, he was out with his dad four- wheeling or helping dad clean the yard and pool, so he could jump in afterwards. He enjoyed sports, hanging around his church youth group, and the many, many friends he had. He truly enjoyed life, trying to learning everything. He left a great impression to all- his smile and craziness will always be remembered, but we know he will wait for us with his open arms and smiles when we see each other again, and what he had set out to do will be accomplished with his heavenly Father. Rosary will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m., Heavenly Gate Chapel. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church, with Father Frank Chavez officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were made with Heavenly Gate Funeral Home. Family messages and condolences may be emailed to: [email protected].

Dear Blea family, I am so sorry for your loss. I had martin in many of my classes as I subbed for MISD. Martin and I bonded by our sense of humor and lightheartedness. I will always remember and miss him shouting "Ju B" down the halls. He brought a smile and a dimple to my heart every time. Tia & Tio,

Last night I sat by the pool in the dark, I could hear the family talking in the background some louder than others. I could hear your sobs tia of deep agony and despair...........and as I sat there silently shedding tears, wishing that I could somehow; magically ease your pain even for a brief moment so you could catch your breath….. I noticed how dirty the pool was, and realized that I have never seen that pool so dirty! I wiped the tears away and smiled because we all know that, that was Baby Marty’s job or at least it seemed that way, since every time we came over he was back there cleaning it or hosing the pool area.
Even though he is no longer with us physically tia and tio, Baby Marty is all around us. He became the little brother I never had. I guess that is why I was always picking on him and vice a versa. I am so going to miss his beautiful, sweet smiling face and even though I hate to admit it……I am going to miss him messing up my hair or wiping his dirty, sweaty hands on my clothes even more. Thank you for always making us feel like part of the family and welcoming us into your lives. It is because of your kind, loving natures that I had the privilege and opportunity to get to know and grow to love Baby Marty. Today as unbearable as it was, it was absolutely amazing to see how many people’s lives he touched and how much you all are loved! Baby Marty had that same kind loving nature. He may be gone but he will most definitely never be forgotten!

Dear Lord,
Please help Blea/Ramirez family in this time of loss and overwhelming grief. We don't understand why our life is filled with this pain and heartache. But we turn our eyes to you as we seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. We will wait on you and not despair; We will quietly wait for your salvation. Our hearts are crushed, but we know that you will not abandon us forever. Please show us your compassion, Lord. Help us through the pain so that we will hope in you again. We believe this promise in your Word to send us fresh mercy each day. Though we can't see past today, we trust your great love will never fail us.

Amen!!

My deepest condolences to the family. Loosing a son isnt easy, for i know it first hand, no words are comforting, nothing matters, but looking back it was nice knowing how many people cared, and know that we all care. Lean completely and wholeheartedly on The Lord and he will carry you through the agony. Many prayers being said for this family on my behalf.
