Maxine Scribner Obituary

Maxine Scribner Maxine Scribner, 83, of Midland, passed away on October 5, 2009 at her home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009, 10:00 a.m., at Resthaven Memorial Park with Scott Sheppard, of Fairmont Park Church of Christ, officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. She was born on June 24, 1926 to Arthur and Golden Streater in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Maxine grew up in Wewoka and attended schools there. She married Doy B. Scribner on December 7, 1945 in Vancouver, Washington, he preceded her in death on October 21, 1996.She and Doy lived in various West Texas towns before moving to Midland in 1965. They were members of the Church of Christ. Maxine volunteered with RSVP, was involved with their annual Texas Size Garage Sale for many years, and she was also an avid reader. Everyone who knew Maxine loved her, she was the most caring, nurturing person who always put others before herself. Her children were her life and she continued to care for them until her last moments. Survivors include, her son Patrick Scribner and wife Stacy of Allen, TX; daughters, Janelle Scribner of San Angelo, Charlotte Solis and husband Al of Mansfield, TX, Becky Baimbridge and husband Chris of Midland, Peggy Ainsworth and husband Ron of Midland; two brothers, Frank Streater, Chester (Sonny) Streater, both of Wewoka, Oklahoma; and a sister, Delores Ann Anderson of Albuqueque, NM; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Hospice of Midland and to Nurse's Unlimited for the exceptional care of our mother. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, TX 79702. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com

I knew Maxine thru my work while I lived in Midland. Her visits to our office were always welcome. She was a dear, sweet lady, loved by all. I know she will be missed but she is now at home!

I haven't seen you kids, and you were kids, when I knew you many, many years ago, but you can be assured, Maxine is in a better place now with our Lord. She leaves only happy memories behind and the knowledge of a job well done.
