Shirley Reid (85) of Fort Worth, Texas passed away January 25, 2013. She was born November 17, 1927, the third of five children, to Roy A. Clark and Callie Fay Frederick in Cleburne, Texas. Shirley grew up in Dallas Texas. There, she met and married Daniel Reid. Dan and Shirley made a home in Fort Worth where they raised their family of four children. Shirley's passion for the last twenty-five-plus years has been the study of art and history. She served as a docent at both the Kimball Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Shirley is survived by her daughter Nancy Jane Reid and husband Peter of Newport, Oregon, sons Robert Reid and wife Jan of Bowie, Texas and Brian Reid and wife Kathy of Midland, Texas, daughter Ellen Reid Smith and husband Josef of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sister Sandra Weber of San Antonio, Texas and five grand children Alexander, Rebecca, Michael, Allison and Stephen. A private celebration of Shirley's life will be held by her family in Fort Worth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aphasia Center of West Texas (aphasiawtx.org).
