Susan Huff Obituary

Susan Harston Huff, 64, of Midland, TX died Monday, August 16, 2010. Services will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, 1pm, at Christ Church Midland, reception immediately following. Susan was born August 21, 1945 in Dallas, TX to Georgia and Daniel Harston. She is survived by her daughter; Dedee Boring, husband Shane and children, Bryce, Blake, Anna, & Max, her brother; Daniel, wife Francoise and daughter Mailys and many cousins of whom she had fond memories. Susan spent nearly her entire life in Midland and graduated from Midland High School in 1963. She was the office manager of Lones Great Destinations Travel agency, where she discovered her passion for travel. Susan is best remembered for her unique creativity. She was the principal of Take Note Stationary and volunteered in helping start the Holy Trinity Bookstore, where many were blessed by her inspiring Christmas Wreaths. Susan was the life of the party, always quickly making friends. When she moved to assisted living, her ministry became advocating for her fellow residents, helping increase the quality of their care. Susan's spirit of giving was evident whether at her home, volunteering at church, or helping with her friends. If you saw Susan around town, chances are she was with her childhood friend, Ann Johnson. The two shared a friendship that most never get to experience. Susan cherished the care, attention and friendship of her Christ Church Midland family especially the home communion visitations. She, also, had a deep compassion for animals and wanted all animals to have a loving home. She wished for memorials to be made to Christ Church Midland, The Lone Star SPCA or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
