Alan, as a child...handsome as ever even then...his deep, dark, probing, sensitive, empathetic eyes...I'll never forget this boy, this friend. He was a giver of his heart, always ready to please. My Mom and his, Aunt Ceceil...were part of a childhood besties group from West Philly, staying friends far, far into adulthood...much time was spent at our house (that old Valiant, I think it was, they came in)? and the kids communed, of course. Just today, I was looking online, wondering where he...

I feel heartbroken and devastated . I just learned that Alan passed away last year. I was one of his earliest students in 1983. Taking classes from Alan was one the best times of my life. I moved out of the area in 1992, but I have thought about and told my wife about him many, many times since then. He was a great martial artist, but even a better human being. He has been and always will be a blessing to me. My sympathies to his wife and children. RIP Alan.

I just found out and I'm heartbroken. Alan and I were very close in early teenage years. I learned a lot from Alan and have always tried to be more like him. My very deepest sympathies to Alan's family.

My heart is broken. Too many memories to sort thru. As a student and a friend for many many years, good-bye Alan.

I knew Alan as a young boy and taught him martial arts first in Kenpo Karate. He later went to Israel to Master in Krav Maga. As children we were best first friends from age 12 or so and had many adventures growing into our teens. I am thankful for the time we had together in our formative years. Blessing and Rest in Peace to a gentle spirit and good personal friend.
