“I had the good fortune of getting to know Al when I rented his house on Lake Pulaski from him. It was always a treat when he stopped by to see us and I kept in contact with him for several years after I moved from his house. He was truly a gem of a person. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
“We thoroughly enjoyed living next door to them for years in Buffalo. I'll never figure when Al helped us get one of our youngest son's baby teeth out. He wouldn't let us touch him. Al just flicked it a little with his finger and out it popped.
“We couldn't have asked for better neighbors than the Brekke's. They showed such kindness to us all. Al was always busy puttering with some project around the house or garage, and he would always smile or chuckle about the creatures that our kids would find at the water's edge in their yard at the lake. Willie was always happy to give tours of their camper when it was setup in their yard, and share their love of camping. So many endearing memories of them both. We are so grateful to have...
