To the Shainline Family: We were out of town and only recently found out about the loss of Anne. I was a colleague of Anne for many years at Hennepin County Social Services. Anne was a true professional as a social worker and always demonstrated care and compassion for the many clients she interacted with over the years. I will always remember her as a warm, vibrant and caring person. Please accept my deepest sympathies!

Anne and Don Carrington (my Dad) celebrate being "80-something."

Leslie, Michael, and Jan --

I adored your Mom. From the '40s at Gettysburg College with my Mom and Dad -- and through the many changing currents that followed -- she was a steadfast friend to our family. I was fortunate to know her even more in recent years and to share warming, heart-to-heart conversations. Her outward beauty was matched by her inner treasures: a captivating blend of grace, strength, and wisdom. How I will miss her. May your lives continue to be lit by her...

Leslie, Michael, and Jan --

How I adored your Mom. She was an abiding friend to our family, beginning with Mom and Dad at Gettysburg College in the '40s. May your lives continue to be lit by her love.

I feel badly that I missed Anne's memorial at The Towers. I live in the unit above Anne's and always found her to be such a lovely person. I was out of town for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family. I know Jan Goetz your daughter, who is an amazing person that you did a wonderful job in raising and instilling all of your positive traits. My prayers are with you all at this time

Anne was a gracious woman and a long-time activist with Women Against Military Madness (WAMM). Her personal warmth and generous commitment to building a peaceful world will be carried forward by those many people she has touched.
